This is the assembly for quiet set tower fans. We have a 5-speed in an 8-speed. The assembly is the same for both. Once you've taken the product out of the box, you'll have a fan housing, two base halves, two thumb screws, and a remote. The thumb screws you'll need to take out of
the base before you assemble. What you'll do first is assemble the base halves. They are a snap fit they click together. Once you hear the audible click you'll know that those are set. The next is to
remove the locking nut. It's located on the bottom of the fan housing. You'll thread the cord once you've done that. Have the cord thread through the base and then you'll see into the base so you'll gently place the fan and then you'll see how it seats itself. Once the fan has seated in the base you'll take your locking nut, thread it over the cord and bring it up into the fan housing base
and then you will screw this on until you hear an audible click. You'll screw a few turns and then
you'll hear a ratchet and then you'll know that that is secure. The next step would be to thread your
cord through the cord keeper located in the base and this is optional. It just helps to manage your cord for you and so there are guides on the inside that you slide your cord through and then out the
bottom tab. Once this is done you can return the thumb screws. These are for added stability and you do not need tools to do this you just use your thumb and you tighten those screws. Once these are in, your fan is assembled. Return it to its upright position, plug it in, and you're ready to go. There's also a nesting compartment right in the back for the remote.
