Commradio CTX 10 have lot of Harsh-Harmonic on the Speaker.
Thats very very bad for a 1000 US $ Transceiver !!!!
Commradio know it but send the bad Transceivers to users.

TOPIC: Harsh-Harmonic Speaker Tone.
The Speaker used in the CTX-10 is mounted on the bottom lowest circuit board. It is designed such that
the speaker’s foam gasket (around the periphery of the speaker cone) makes contact with the bottom
cover-stamped grille.
There are two (issues) that may cause a harsh or harmonic sound resulting in unacceptable and
unpleasant listening. The issues are mechanical and are not caused by the speaker-amplifier or the
speaker itself.
Before taking any action, tune a station with the volume 100%. The audio quality should be excellent
over the entire volume range. (Compare to the headset or a quality external speaker.) Or use the CW
sidetone (not controlled by the volume control).

Remove the bottom cover (8 screws) to determine if 1 or both issues are present. (Your warranty will
not be void.)
1. The first issue is the proper orientation of the
speaker such that the black and red leads are
short and close to the solder-holes provided on
the circuit board. (There is no polarity). It is
possible the speaker is rotated 180 degrees. This
results in the speaker not being mounted flush
with the circuit board due to the plastic boss used
by the 2 wires. The picture on the right indicates
correct orientation.
2. The second issue is the punched speaker grille slots may have metal ridges (burrs from
stamping) that contact the speaker foam gasket. IE, the inside surface of the bottom cover is
not smooth. (Use your index finger and it should feel smooth.) The result is the same harsh tone
or garbled voice at higher volumes.
