NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Colpix 785) Recorded in August 1965 at United Recording in Hollywood, this release was the twelfth and final single that Paul Petersen would issue on the Colpix label. In a career that spanned from the 1950's when he was one of Walt Disney's, 'Mousketeers', Paul would appear on the big screen as well but it was his roll as Jeff Stone on the popular TV program, 'The Donna Reed Show' is what he is most fondly remembered by. Not to be outdone by other teen TV stars who had jumped into the recording scene, Paul and his co-star, Shelley Fabares were no exception. They both recorded some wonderful pop music for Colpix Records, the recording arm of Screen Gems, the television branch of Columbia Pictures, the studio for the 'Donna Reed Show'. 'The Ring' was composed by Billy Page, arranged by his brother Gene and the session was produced by Hank Levine. L.A.'s 'Wrecking Crew' provided the big, brassy backing track which featured drum fills and also lovely harmonic female backing vocals. Not a charting record, but by no means was it due to a lack in quality.
Retired from the entertainment biz, Paul has become an accomplished novelist and also a well known activist. He founded, 'A Minor Consideration', a child-actor support group whose mission is to improve working conditions for child-actors and to assist in the transition between working as a child actor into adult life. Paul Petersen is one of the most humble, gracious and approachable people who you will ever meet.
