Once upon a time Bidar Named city was known as VIDUR NAGARI. It was created by a well known scholar of Mahabharata that is vidur and is situated on a mountain namely manichula the area from Hyderabad to Osmanbad was a part of Dense forest namely DANDAKARNYA.

In treta yug in mulastan city now known as multan in Pakistan lord narsimha came from pillar and killed hiranya kashyap name devil with nails of lion lords gesture was body of human and face of lion. So named as narsimha and saved bhakta prahlad lord narsimha is the fourth in carnation of lord Vishnu
In Bidar named city a devil namely jharasur created a cave for worshiping and meditation of lord shankara he had dual personality one side was he was a bhakta of shankara other side was used to kill every creature which he see either it may be a human oranimal or bird or insect kill them and eat raw flesh of them throw the bones out side.
People of bidar get frigtned and bored and angry that the devil comes out of cave eats us and our animals so to stop the killing people commonly worshipped lord Vishnu so to protect us from devil at that time lord was in fourth in carnation that islord narsimha lord narsimha appeared to protect human and animals.
A lot of fighting in between lord and devil took place at last when last time came lord narsimha said to devil you have done the worshiping of lord shankara if you have alast and good will please ask me devil told my last will is before before your name my name should be there and your angry mood should get peace in this beautifull place.
So lord narsimha angry mood get peace in Krishna varna shaligram beyond lords foot prints the streams of water are flowing so that’s why this temple is being named as sri kshetra jharni narsimha temple bidar from jharasur there is jharni then after narsimha.
You have to go through tunnel there is 4 feet deep water walk a distance of one furlong in tunnel (cave) inside front there is lord narsimha and in right side there is lord shankara so this place is can also called as hari har kshetra.
