Orange OR15 | Entry Level Beast

If you dig the Orange sound and are on a budget then I think you'll be very pleased with the amp. It looks great, has a small footprint, easy to carry to gigs/rehearsal, has an fx loop, takes pedals well, and is extremely affordable.
Listen to the audio demos here and if this is your cup of tea then let me know!

Today on Amps, Pedals & Pickups I take a look at the Orange OR15 (15 watt mini/micro amp)

The Orange OR15 is a single channel amp which Orange are saying is a modern voiced amp based on the dirty channel of an Orange Rockverb.
In the demo there's two main audio showcases. The first is the OR15 only with no pedals. The second section has a Bondi Effects Sick as mk3 into the front of the amp and a Fractal FM3 into the FX Loop for EQ/Reverb.
In all the demos here the speaker load from the OR15 is running into a two notes captor x and the IR being used in the DAW is a GGD Cali IR (the stock IR when you load it). I initially wanted to use an orange 2x12 cab IR but when I was choosing one I kept liking the combo of the GGD Cali IR with the OR15, it just sounded better and less fuzzier.

I love that amp companies are offering more and more mini amp heads (Mesa, Marshall, Peavey, Orange, PRS, Soldano, ENGL, etc etc the list goes on)
This is my first orange amp that I've really had some time to play with and I'm liking the cleaner/low-medium gain stuff on here, but I find it hard to dial in medium to high gain tones. To me things start to fuzz up and get a bit muddy and its not a sound I'm gelling with.
I'm trying to see the positive in this because do I want 50 amps that give me what I want but with 3% different flavours... or does it make sense to keep something completely different in the arsenal for blending tones? Time will tell!

If you have any gear or software demos you want me to take a look at just comment or email and I can chuck it on my list.

Thanks for watching!
Nathan
