The port is a beautiful area with old warehouses and a big fleet of fishing boats.
It is a busy place on the weekends' many people come to visit the cafes, restaurants and the beautiful church, Iglesia de San Nicolás.

The port handles 500,000 tons of cargo annually and has a large yacht area and separate fishing boats area.
From Gandía you can travel by ferry to Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca, Formentera and Ibiza Town.

The Gandia commercial port and the railroad tracks were built between 1886 and 1893 by the English
railway company "The Alcoy-Gandia Railway&Harbor Company Limited", due to the importance of
Gandia port as a place of arrival of English coal to supply the prosperous agricultural and textile industries of Alcoy.
The old warehouses were destroyed by a cyclone on December 8, 1906. Two years later the construction of twelve new sheds began, which were operational in 1910 and allowed the storage of around 20,000 boxes of oranges. Later, in the central part of the complex, a 19 meters high clock tower was built.
During the Civil War three of the sheds were destroyed and then rebuilt. Between 1963 and 1964, due to the boom in the export of citrus fruits, five more sheds were built, similar to the existing ones, with the exception of the roof style.
Since 2018, the sheds have been recognized as Local Relevant Assets (or Local Heritage Assets).

The port has a contemporary part which is closed for visitors.
