Contact [email protected] for pricing and availability; Either I have it, or I can get it! Omega Speedmaster Mark II Racing Dial vs. TAG Heuer Autavia Jack Heuer limited edition! This one is a slugfest between Omega's established luxury watch power and a resurgent name in TAG Heuer. Will the Omega Speedmaster Mark II Racing Dial extend Omega's lead over TAG Heuer, or will the Autavia Jack Heuer limited edition put the once great Heuer name back in pole position?

The Omega Speedmaster Mark II Racing Dial (327.10.43.50.06.001) is a tribute to the vintage Omega Speedmaster 145.014 "Racing Dial" built as part of the 1969-1975 Speedmaster Professional Mark II family. Omega's new Mark II is a co-axial COSC chronometer with automatic winding, a 52-hour power reserve, a date, a free-sprung balance, silicon hairspring, column wheel function selection, a date window, and 100-meter water resistance. This Omega watch's 42.4mm stainless steel case contains more inherent capability than any vintage Speedmaster Professional, and that's before considering the sensational fully luminescent tachymeter scale.

TAG Heuer luxury watches have faced a tough 35 years since the end of Heuer family control. Rarely discussed as rivals to Rolex, Omega, and Breitling, TAG Heuer watches often populate the cases of mall department stores and entry-level Tourneau watch displays. But the 2017 Heuer Autavia helped to channel some of the vintage-cool of old Heuers into the current catalog, and today's TAG Heuer Autavia Jack Heuer limited edition (CBE2111.BA0687) aims to go one better; re-integrate the reputation of the Heuer family and its legacy into the TAG Heuer brand. To that end, this late 2017 TAG Heuer Autavia edition is a limited series of 1,932 designed to recognized the 85th anniversary of Heuer brand patriarch Jack Heuer. Jack is the inventor of the Heuer Carrera, Heuer Monaco, Heuer Solunar, and, of course, the original 1962 Heuer Autavia.

The new (TAG) Heuer Autavia is a 42.7mm stainless steel chronograph equally adept in motorsports, aeronautics, and waterborne action. Its automatic winding TAG Heuer manufacture caliber Heuer 02 boasts all of the modern standards; column wheel function selection; vertical clutch engagement; quick-set date; hacking seconds. A robust 75-hour power reserve surpasses the Omega's 52 hours by a healthy margin, and the reborn Heuer Autavia features a useful bidirectional calibrated bezel for which the Omega Speedmaster has no answer.

Is Omega still the last word in sports chronographs? Has TAG Heuer edged ahead by looking to the past? Versus #11 starts now: Omega vs. TAG Heuer!
