Chase's wish to be a firefighter

Make-A-Wish® North Texas, Build-A-Bear Workshop® and the
Frisco Fire Department team up for Chase's Firefighter Wish.

Eight-year-old Chase, from Frisco, is battling a life-threatening medical condition, but that doesn't keep him from his fascination with firefighters and his want to be just like them. He loves watching re-runs of the 1970's television medical drama Emergency! with his dad and even had one of his past birthday parties at a fire station.

On the day of his wish, Chase and his family arrived at the Build-A-Bear Workshop at Stonebriar Centre Mall for what Chase thought would be a fun morning making new furry friends. What Chase didn't know was that the Frisco Fire Department would rush in to the Workshop to inform Chase that he has been selected as a firefighter recruit and his assistance was needed immediately.

Chase quickly changed into his new firefighter apparel, stopped for a quick lunch at the Central Fire Station and then spent the afternoon answering three dispatch calls the Frisco Fire Department created just for their new recruit. The afternoon concluded with a recognition ceremony at Frisco Fire Safety Town Hall where Chase was presented with an award for his heroism!
