Matt Neylon is a worship leader at the Village, but there’s so much more to Matt than what we see on Sundays. As the director of visual and performing arts at the Mount Vernon School, he brings the magic and the beauty of music into the lives of the students he serves.

Matt’s journey is both inspiring and somewhat different than many stories we're used to hearing. It was only 8-weeks between the time he was told he couldn't be involved in ministry as a gay man and the time he found a home at the Village in Atlanta.

Raised in an evangelical family, he faced the challenge of reconciling his faith with his identity as a gay Christian. How did he navigate this complexity of that? What was fallling in love with his husband Alejandro like? And how does art play a role in his story?
