The Indian National tricolor was unfilled at the hands of dignitaries at MIT WPU University to mark the 74 Republic Day of India.

The chief guest for the function was Shri Ranjeet Shekhar Mooshahari ji the former governor of Meghalaya and the former director general of the national security guard and Border Security Force.

The special guest of honour was Air Marshal
S S Soman who arrived along with Mrs Rashmi Soman.

Vice-chancellor of MIT World Peace University Professor Dr Ravi Chitnis extended a warm welcome to all those present.

This was followed by a scintillating performance by the MIT cultural group.
In his address, Air Marshal S S Soman advised the students to read to enhance knowledge, exercise to keep fit and reflect on whether they have achieved what they had planned for the day.

Quoting from the Bhagavad Gita, Shri Ranjeet Shekhar Mooshahari ji emphasized the importance of peace in order to achieve happiness.

Founder and Chief patron of Maeers MIT Pune and President of MIT WPU, Professor doctor Vishwanath Karad said that we are witnessing this 74th Republic Day thanks to the contributions and sacrifices of great sons of India who have late their lives for the freedom of the country.
