In late December, researchers from Taronga and UNSW teamed up with officers from ACT Parks and Conservation to rescue seven Platypus from the rapidly disappearing ponds of Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve which, like much of Australia, is currently experiencing extremely dry conditions. With nowhere to go, these animals would almost certainly have perished without action.
