On Saturday 23 March 2024, over 120 participants took part in the Derwen 10km Challenge

We welcomed students, families, staff, members of the local community – and plenty of dogs – who completed the challenge by running, jogging or walking the 10k (or 6k) course.

Sports teachers Kelly and Sian lead the warm up before everyone set off on the route around Gobowen, near Oswestry.

Despite battling through four seasons in one day, participants had a fun time and were welcomed back with their medals and goodie bags, given out by volunteers Anton and Richard.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in this fundraising event for Derwen Charity, from the walkers and runners, to the marshals and volunteers who took time out to make this event happen – thank you!

Notes:
Derwen College, in Gobowen, Shropshire, is an award-winning specialist college for young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The College's main campus is in Gobowen, near Oswestry, with satellite sites at Ludlow, Telford and Walford (near Shrewsbury).
