Herb Ohta, Jr.: "Hanamizuki"

Hanamizuki was written by Hitoto Yō, a Japanese Pop singer. This song was written about the 9/11 terrorist incident. Hitoto recalled that in 1912 America and Japan exchanged trees. America gave Japan a Dogwood and Japan gave America a Sakura. Even though this tragedy happened across the sea, apparently the song is about the pain of losing someone and this is something any one can relate to. By loving someone, we spread the love across the world and hopefully towards peace.
Herb first heard this song while walking through the Yokohama train station in Japan in late 2014. He then forgot about the song until he went to a party in Hawaiʻi at a Karaoke place and heard someone sing the same song. He then asked what song this was and they told him "Hanamizuki". Herb forgot about it again until a friend told him thereʻs a song that he should perform...the song... "Hanamizuki".
