⚔️🎩👮 Justice Wears No Crown – A Samuel Vimes Song 👮🎩⚔️
Verse 1
In the city where the streets are alive,
With the stench of fish and the merchant’s bribe,
Where the gutters sing and the rooftops frown,
You’ll find that justice wears no crown.
Chorus
No king, no god, just a watchman’s vow,
Walking the beat through the muck somehow.
With boots worn thin and a face of renown,
In Ankh-Morpork, justice wears no crown.
Verse 2
The nobles dine on golden plates,
While the city spins on the hand of fate.
But in the alleys where the thieves abound,
I’ll remind them justice wears no crown.
Chorus
No king, no god, just a watchman’s vow,
Walking the beat through the muck somehow.
With boots worn thin and a face of renown,
In Ankh-Morpork, justice wears no crown.
Bridge
And the gods may laugh, and the kings may scoff,
But I’ll fight for those that power shrugs off.
With a cigar in my teeth, and Sybil’s love to keep,
I’ll guard these streets while the city sleeps.
Verse 3
The Beast within growls, but I keep it chained,
While the chaos runs wild, my boots are stained.
Through the grime and crime, I will not back down,
For here in the filth, justice wears no crown.
Final Chorus
No king, no god, just a watchman’s vow,
Walking the beat through the muck somehow.
With boots worn thin and a face of renown,
In Ankh-Morpork, justice wears no crown.
Outro
So raise your glass to the watch tonight,
We walk the streets, we keep the fight.
Through darkness, chaos, and Vetinari’s frown,
Remember: justice wears no crown.
Outro again but slow
So raise your glass to the watch tonight,
We walk the streets, we keep the fight.
Through darkness, chaos, and Vetinari’s frown,
Remember: justice wears no crown.

⚔️🎩👮 Justice Wears No Crown – A Samuel Vimes Song 👮🎩⚔️
His Grace, His Excellency, The Duke of Ankh, Commander Sir Samuel Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork City Watch (try fitting that on a business card!) is one of the most iconic and layered characters in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. While Captain Carrot may have been the Watch’s golden boy, it was Vimes who stole my loyalty when I read Night Watch. Despite my usual dislike for time travel in stories, Pratchett worked his magic and made it one of my favorite books in the series. What drew me to Vimes was how he balances his cynical, no-nonsense attitude with an unshakable commitment to doing what’s right for his city. Underneath the gruff exterior and battered armor is a man who, despite all odds, refuses to give up on justice.
One of my favorite Vimes moments is his unspoken war with privilege. There’s a scene where he’s forced to attend a posh event, surrounded by nobles dripping with wealth, sipping wine that probably costs more than a watchman’s yearly salary. Vimes, of course, feels like a wolf in a room full of sheep—until he spots a tiny scratch on the silver platter being passed around. You can almost see him smirk as he thinks, "Not so perfect now, are you?" That’s Sam Vimes: the man who can spot the flaws in any system and isn’t afraid to call them out, one scuffed cobblestone or scratched platter at a time.
This song is a tribute to the man who stands for justice, not for glory. For Sam, it’s about the job, not the crown—because justice, in Ankh-Morpork, doesn’t wear one.
