BSN INTERVIEW: MEMBERS OF VIERA HAWKS 3A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF TEAM, SPONSORED BY East Coast Sharks Football

Last Novemeber, the Hawks boys golf team won the first Class 3A state title in program history and the first boys golf title ever in Brevard County

The Hawks shot a two-day total of 591 (293-298) at the Mission Inn and Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills.

It’s the third golf championship in school history. The Viera girls won state titles in 2010 and 2014.

The Viera boys, who also led after the tournament’s first day, defeated second-place Lakewood Ranch (Bradenton) by seven strokes.

Individually, Viera junior Ryan Woodward turned in back-to-back rounds of 71, for a two-day total of 142. That put him in fourth place, one shot behind a trio of players who went on to play a four-hole playoff to determine the individual champion.

Viera sophomore Shayaan Kim, who turned in a total of 150 (75-75) for 17th place overall.

In this Interview BSN speaks with both Ryan and Shayaan as well as Jeremiah Smith about the state title and what’s been happening since.

BSN also speaks with their personal golf coach, Ted Britschgi.
