For all the Muslims in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the month of Ramadan, is the happiest time of the year. Some unique delicacies accompany the celebration of the festival, and also it is the time for the family members of Hui Muslims to get together. For the celebration, every dish is well prepared, though to enjoy the meal is not a priority, it is the family reunion, which provides the festival’s actual flavor.
