NEW CD OUT NOW: https://ben-maton-music.square.site/p... Bach composed this wonderful piece for the season of Advent, but it remains one of his most popular works and a favourite for wedding services and funerals.
The hymn tune melody, which appears at 45 seconds (played by an oboe stop), is cleverly interweaved by Bach around the famous opening theme. A gentle pedal bass line accompanies.
