Why study an MA in Environmental Humanities?

We have known about the science behind the climate crisis for a long time, but it is a humanities problem too. It is about human beings taking action.

To address environmental challenges, we need to understand how the relationship with our environment is shaped by moral and ethical judgements, human behaviour and structures. Studying how human interactions with the natural environment have changed over time, and how those interactions have been explored in culture, is essential to tackling contemporary environmental concerns.
