India is not failing because of politicians. It is not failing because of BJP, or Congress. India is failing because its citizens have stopped being citizens - and have become subjects.

Braindead WhatsApp-forwarding zombies who worship their politicians instead of holding them accountable.

Who is a subject? Please read this carefully. Because it is important.

A subject is someone who does whataboutery when a bridge collapses - comparing it to something that happened in 1947.

A subject is someone who stays silent when their child’s exam gets leaked - but defends “their leader” because the other party would be worse.

A subject is someone who claps when their own freedoms are taken away - as long as it’s done by their ruler.

In December 2023, the ruling government changed the law for how Chief Election Commissioner is chosen. They kicked out the Chief Justice of India from the selection panel. And replaced him… with a Union Minister handpicked by the Prime Minister himself.

Now your “independent” Election Commissioner is picked by this 3-member panel.

1. Narendra Modi - Prime Minister - Panel Head (Executive)

2. Amit Shah – BJP Union Minister chosen by the Prime Minister – Member (Executive)

3. Opposition Leader - Member (Legislature)

That’s a 2–1 vote. Every. Single. Time. And you wonder why the Election Commission behaves the way it does today? Why does it tweet poetry instead of answering fraud allegations?

Because it’s no longer independent. Because we stayed silent when they changed the law.

India’s ranking in the Democracy Index has fallen consistently. We have sold our jungles, our natural resources, our airports to a couple of billionaires - who also own Media Empires (Network 18, NDTV etc). Perhaps, that’s the reason why we are 159th in the Press Freedom Index.


The Rupee has lost over 40% of its value in just 10 years. Petrol prices have jumped over 38% in the same period - and that’s after blending it with 12–15% cheaper ethanol (ruining your cars). Our food costs 65% more than a decade ago

And yet - we clap, and forward those WhatsApp messages like a true nationalist. Because we are no longer citizens with rights. We are subjects with a ruler. And rulers love subjects - because subjects never fight back.

This needs to change. Become a Journalist to speak reason. Support those who raise their voice for you. Join the civil services - to plan, to build, to hold power accountable. Join politics - not for power, but to fight for transparency, science, and dignity.

Because if the rational stay silent, the buffoons will rule, the billionaires will loot - and the rest of us will drown quietly. Leaving India is not the solution anymore. Golden visas cost crores - only the billionaires and politicians looting us can buy them (and they are doing so already while unfurling our national flag every Independence Day).
