This slideshow features images of World War II relics my brother Jerry ran across when he was living in Samoa in the late '60s-early '70s and images of the Solomon Islands, including of a lovely family of the small group of Ontong Java people who live in more remote areas. Enjoy the nostalgia of my other scans of slides taken by my brother, Jerry Packard in many different locations in the South Pacific area. Jerry studied the taro blight when getting his master's degree in South Pacific History at the U of H. He and his wife, Carole both taught school in Samoa when they lived there in the 1960s-70s after having met in a Peace Corps training camp on Molokai and being married when Jerry worked for the US government in Guam before moving to Samoa.
