This video is a timeline of evolution for first hominids and size comparison of their brain sizes.
#Toumai (Sahelanthropus tchadensis) is considered the oldest hominid, had a brain size of 300 cc.
#Orrorin (Orrorin tugenesis) is the first bipedal hominid based on femur and tibial bones found.
#Australoptithecus Afarensis had a brain size 425 cc. The most famous is Lucy who was a female and walked almost bipedal. Her name comes from a Beatles song listened by the archeologist at the time of this great discovery.
Australopithecus Robustus had a brain of 425 cc.
Homo #Habilis had a brain of 650 cc and he was clearly building and using stone tools.
Homo #Erectus or Ergaster had a brain of 900 cc and he was mastering fire already. The most famous is #Turkana boy.
Homo #Heidelbergensis had a brain of 1000 cc he was organized in tribes and he was more advanced.
Homo #Neanderthalensis had a brain of 1400 cc, he was more robust than Homo Sapiens and both had in breeding. They are extinct.
Homo Cro-Magnon had a brain of 1325 cc and he was Homo Sapiens. The earliest was discovered in Romania and had 25% Neanderthal DNA.
Homo Sapiens Sapiens has brain of 1325 cc.
