Montezuma Canyon

Montezuma canyon, like many canyons, are named for the rivers or creeks that flow through them. Montezuma creek is a seasonal creek located in southeast Utah. It is surrounded by a relatively wide, branched canyon with red and white rocks.
The canyon walls are often sheer cliffs with interesting natural formations. But the main attraction of this canyon is the ancient sites. Among them are cliff dwellings, granaries and rock art that are scattered throughout the 43 mile long canyon.
