The Very Hungry Caterpillar Cake by CrummiCakes

This is a single-tier blue-bubblegum mud cake with key elements of Eric Carl's story The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The cake is covered with chocolate ganache then covered with fondant. All of the elements are made of fondant and hand painted in the same style as the illustrations from the book. The finished cake stands 4" (10cm) high and is 12" (30.5cm) in diameter - with the elements on top the overall height is more like 10" (25.5cm).

The story of the Very Hungry Caterpillar is narrated by my daughter Remi.
