KOSOVO: FUNERAL OF 15 YEAR OLD ETHNIC ALBANIAN

Thousands of ethnic Albanians attended the funeral Tuesday of a 15 year old boy - killed by Serbs in Mitrovica last night.

The family of Gazmend Ibrahimi led the funeral procession through the southern Albanian sector of ethnically divided Mitrovica.

Carrying photographs of the boy and flowers, weeping mourners followed his coffin.

Gazmend Ibrahimi was killed when Serbs, armed with guns and hand grenades, attacked his family home.

The attack sparked off street riots by angry Albanians, who blame K-FOR for failing to provide adequate security for their families, who live surrounded by Serbs.

On Tuesday afternoon, rioting erupted again.

K-FOR troops fired tear gas and stun grenades at angry, rock throwing Albanians, trying to cross into the Serb-dominated north.

Shots were heard coming from the Serb side.

K-FOR reinforcements have been sent in to the city which has been reported to be calmer on Tuesday evening.
