ON RECORD: UNTOLD & RETOLD is a specially curated festival that explores black music in Liverpool and the role it has played in the city and communities over the past 70 years.

A selection of local artists were invited to the Liverpool Philharmonic to perform live as part of the inaugural launch on Friday 30 October, including The Real Thing.

Formed in 1972, they are Britain's longest established and best loved black group in UK entertainment history and you can watch them here performing some of their most memorable tracks.
