METRO is all about helping our community. We care about the people we serve, which is why we partnered with the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities and the United Spinal Association of Houston to deliver personal protective equipment (PPE) packages to members of Houston’s disability community.

METRO is the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas – serving the Greater Houston Area with safe, clean, reliable, accessible and friendly public transportation services.

We operate local and commuter buses, light rail, HOV/HOT (high occupancy vehicle/toll) lanes, METROLift paratransit service in the City of Houston (and most of Harris County) for people with disabilities, and vanpool service in portions of an eight county region.

Plus, with more than 25 Park & Ride locations throughout the Greater Houston Area, it's convenient for you to park your car and get on board with METRO.
