Just over 18 months ago, I made an enormous career shift. I had spent 16 years in traditional orthopedic surgery, performing thousands and thousands of surgeries in the process. But in my five or so years of personally seeing an anti-aging physician, I became fascinated with some of the treatments available that most people don't know about. I started researching other non-traditional treatments to further improve my health. I learned about treatments - treatments I had never heard of in my orthopedic surgery career - but treatments that appeared to help people heal their injuries without surgery. Treatments I wanted to use in my orthopedic surgery practice but couldn’t because they were considered experimental.

Once I left my insurance-based traditional orthopedic surgery practice and joined an anti-aging and regenerative medicine practice, I spent a year of early mornings, late nights and weekends studying for my board certification in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, learning about topics I hadn’t seen since medical school - hormones, gut health, cardiovascular medicine, neurology and more. Just over six weeks ago, I obtained my third board certification. I’m now only the second orthopedic surgeon in the country ( as far as I can tell) who is board certified in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Now I can bring all these amazing treatments that you just can’t get from your traditional primary-care doctor or hospital-employed orthopedic surgeon to help you heal and recover from your injury without surgery.
