I was sharing information with a colleague and she said something that made me ponder. She said that nail polish blocks the light coming from your fingers. I’m not sure where her information came from but this made so much sense to me, especially since we are mostly light and electromagnetic energy! Essentially, we are 99.99% space because we are made of atoms!
My last experience with nail polish was that I felt like my nails couldn’t “breathe”. It was very uncomfortable, never mind all the toxins in nail polish and the solvents used to remove it. I imagine all the chemicals and lights used in modern nail enameling is equally non-beneficial.
I am aware that some health food stores carry nail polish. I am really not sure what is in there. I am rather suspect though. You can always check it out but it will still block the light from your fingers!
I have an alternative called nail buffing. Now it doesn’t have a wide range of colors, though it does make your nails very shiny, smooth and pinker. It actually increases circulation in your fingers for a while and it is relatively natural. Decades ago, I used to use my mother’s nail buffing kit and it involved some powders. Now you can simply use differently graded sand-paper like tools and a final smooth buffing tool. I even got a set at Dollarama when I had a very tight budget. I will put some links to some products that you can explore. There will likely be some available in drugstores and manicure places. Try it out and comment as to what you think about it.
Other aspects to nail health involve diet. It is important that you get enough minerals. I re-mineralize my water after filtering it. I also do my best to eat sea vegetables or at least sneak kelp powder in my smoothies or on my food. I use iodine supplementation with liquid iodine daily. Collagen found in organ meats, bone-broth, the skin form chicken, sardines, and consuming Aloe Vera which increases collagen can also be very helpful. Some people use a collagen supplement. Just make sure you find a clean source.
