Former President Thabo Mbeki is addressing members of the ANC on the second-day of the Gauteng ANC Renewal Workshop at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg.
Speaking yesterday on the sidelines of the workshop, Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi said he welcomed the criticism of his party, the ANC, its alliance partner the SACP and that debates are important in the formation of strategy.
Tensions rose within the tripartite alliance following comments by the SACP's General-Secretary, Solly Mapaila that the ANC had "sold out" by entering into the Government of National Unity and cosying up to white monopoly capital.
