The Gita is meant for everyone. Our desire is for everyone to hear the Divine wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita, with Sanskrit expertly translated by H.D.G. Bhaktivedanta Swami. If you have a loved one who would respond better to a gender neutral reading, please pass it on. Everyone should have the blessing to hear or read the Bhagavad Gita.

What does 'Gender neutral' mean when referring to the Bhagavad Gita? For this reading, when speaking in general, a person is referred to as 'one' or 'a person' as opposed to using he/him as a default standard. In addition, the soul itself is referred to in gender neutral language. Perhaps one's ultimate spiritual rupa identifies with a divine masculine or feminine, but while as a jivatma, given our countless lives in the cycle of birth and death in the material realm, gender neutral makes the most sense, especially in current vernacular.

Krishna and Arjuna are still referred to as he/him. The fighters on the battlefield are referred to as kinsmen, as they are all male. With the exception of Shikhandini, who was born as the daughter of Drupada, the King of Panchala. However Shikhandi became a biological male after agreeing to a gender exchange with a yaksha. Hence Shikhandi identifies as a male for this reading of the Gita.

Why no music? Every Gita reading I listen to has some sort of sound effects or synths. Every person has a subjective opinion of what is too loud or too soft. I find the music always way too loud and distracting. The Gita is enough. I just want to hear it, alone. If you do too, please enjoy.
