ईश्वर को परमात्मा कहा जाता है, अथवा यथार्थ रूप में परमात्मा को ही भगवान, रचता सर्वशक्तिमान के रूप में जाना जाता है l इसका अर्थ है कि वह सभी आत्माओं में सर्वोच्च आत्मा है। परमात्मा हम सर्व आत्माओ के पिता (father) है, जो हमे सुख और शांति का अविनाशी वर्षा देते है l आत्माओं की तरह, भगवान प्रकाश का ही एक सूक्ष्म बिंदु है, लेकिन मानव आत्माओं के विपरीत, वो आत्मा जन्म और मृत्यु के चक्र से परे है, अर्थात चक्र मे नही आते और कर्मों के फल - सुख वा दुख की अनुभूति नही करते, अर्थात वो अकर्ता है, सत्य है। भगवान सभी मानव आत्माओं का सर्वोच्च पिता, माता, शिक्षक, सखा और सतगुरु है। हम उनको केवल कठिन समय में ही याद है, यह हमारे भीतर ऐसा अंतर्निहित है। हम परमपिता को अपने दुख के समय मे ही याद करते है, यह हुमारे मन बुद्धि मे इतने तक बैठा हुआ है की वो ही हमारा शांति-दाता है।
