Byron 3: Childe Harold's Pilgrimage, Canto III

Описание к видео Byron 3: Childe Harold's Pilgrimage, Canto III

Recorded for Monash University. This part explores Byron's account of the visiting the Battle of Waterloo site in 1816, one year after Napoleon's defeat. His poetry articulates his self-identification with Napoleon: Byron was devastated by the French loss in itself, but saw it as emblematic of his personal disappointments too.
