My childhood unfolded in a region where the Middle Ages never fully receded, where every village bears a crown of stone and every path is guarded by a cross. I didn’t realize it then, but those relics were already burrowed their way into me.

I often wandered through these places, especially the churches. I am not a man of faith—perhaps I would be better off if I were, who can say—but I still remember the sense of intimidation I felt before the symbols of Christianity: the soaring vaults, the organs, the paintings, the passion of the christ, the stories glowing through the stained glass. That feeling, somewhere between awe and unease, carved in me a lasting fascination for this aesthetic. I find in it a kind of grace, purity, and perfection. Arcana Anissa Temporum oblitum is a tribute to the most beautiful things Catholicism has ever built. At the end of the day, we are just people: we grow up, we are exposed to certain things, and later we try to spit them back out, and we try to stylize them. That ancient resonance seeped into me long before I ever learned to shape sound.
