Exploring Historic Waterloo Village - Walking Tour in the Snow

Описание к видео Exploring Historic Waterloo Village - Walking Tour in the Snow

Waterloo Village is a preserved 19th century town positioned approximately at the midway point along the Morris Canal. Built in 1831, the canal was active until after the Civil War, at which point it was supplanted by railroad transport. The village of Waterloo fell into decline and was abandoned during the Great Depression. In 1967 it was restored into an open air museum and was at one point a popular concert venue. Join me as I take you on a tour of the village on a snow covered day. I take a close look at the mansions, black smith and general stores, and the abandoned features of the Morris Canal.
