Cycling Lake Constance: Lindau - Friedrichshafen

This ride is part of the official bike path around Lake Constance, but in the reverse direction from Lindau to Friedrichshafen. The journey is approximately 26 kilometers on a pleasant, flat road, making it perfect for cyclists of all levels. Our route takes us through several charming small towns along Lake Constance: Lindau, Wasserburg, Nonnenhorn, Langenargen, Eriskircher Ried, and finally to our goal, Friedrichshafen, offering stunning views of the water and mountains.

As we pass through these picturesque towns, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a café in a bakery, dine in a restaurant, or indulge in some delicious ice cream. If you're traveling in the summer, you can also take a refreshing swim in Lake Constance.

The Lake Constance region is one of Europe’s largest fruit-growing areas, renowned for its rich variety of apples. Along the route, you'll find local vendors selling fresh fruits such as apples, strawberries, and cherries. Be sure to carry some coins with you, as many of these are self-service stands where you can purchase fruits by placing money in a small box. Additionally, if you enjoy good wine, Nonnenhorn offers a perfect opportunity to buy local wine at one of the wineries.

If you plan to do the trip yourself, make sure to plan a stop in Langenargen, located about 15 kilometers from Lindau. Langenargen boasts one of the longest waterfront promenades on Lake Constance. A must-see in Langenargen is Schloss Montfort, visible from the harbor. The castle tower provides a fascinating view of the lake and the Alpine panorama.
