Beijing Daxing International Airport is the biggest airport in the world. It was opened in September 2019, following more than four years of construction.

The name of the airport “Daxing” means 'big rise’, has enormous dimensions. The airport spans 700,000 square metres, or 98 football fields.
Beijing Daxing airport was developed at a cost of $17 billion for this colossal project.

It is expected to handle 72 million passengers by 2025 and up to 100 million passengers and four million tonnes of cargo upon further expansion.
