Megalodon is the largest predatory shark that ever lived, likely reaching 50' in length and around 40 tons. I changed this on 1/11/2021 from 14 tons as I obtained the only peer-reviewed paper I have found with weights, their equation makes a 50' shark push 40 tons. If someone has another peer-reviewed paper that discusses the weight of Megalodon please let me know! By comparison, today's largest predatory shark, the Great White Shark, reaches 20' and less than 3 tons.
