I always loved this solo: 'Young Marcus Miller 1980s Bass slap solo (David Sanborn live)'. Marcus is ruthless on that vid. Here's my attempt. I used to play quite a bit of slap bass when I lived/gigged in TX eons ago, but here in Nashville not so much. It took allot of research and study to figure (and some cases re-learn!) all the unique Marcus musical slap techniques he developed (and that's before even trying to execute it! lol). I used a great Nate Smith loop for the drums track(s). I played it on my 70s lawsuit jazz bass.
