Vladimir, once the capital of Russia // Historical center and Soviet outskirts

Описание к видео Vladimir, once the capital of Russia // Historical center and Soviet outskirts

Vladimir is an ancient city with a population of 350,000 people, located 180km east of Moscow. After Nizhny Novgorod I decided to visit Vladimir because I couldn't skip such an important city. The city is included in the tourist route of ancient towns "The Golden Ring of Russia". In the 12th century Russia was called Kievan Rus and was divided into several principalities. Vladimir-Suzdalian Rus was one of the major principalities. Who knows, if history turned out differently, Russia’s capital today would be Vladimir instead of Moscow.

In this video we will see grand examples of medieval architecture; visit both historical part and the outskirts; and learn about city’s past and present.
