Throwback to 2015 when we landed on the new volcanic island Hunga Tonga-Hunga Haʻapai (Tonga).

In 2009 a submarine eruption began spewing pumice and ash, creating a new landmass. Erosive forces reclaimed the land and it disappeared beneath the ocean. In late 2014, a series of major eruptions created a new, much bigger landmass on which we landed.
