WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS

DOWNLOADING RESHADE

- The 1st thing you’ll do is go to reshade.me or just google reshade and click the top link.
- Then you’ll click the purple download button.
- As of this video, the current version is 4.6.1, but just download whatever is current when you are seeing this. Save to your downloads folder or wherever is convenient for you.

INSTALLING RESHADE TO YOUR GAME

- Double click the icon for Reshade Setup and if you get a Windows pop-up, just click “More info.” Then click “run anyway.”
- Then the Reshade program should open and you’ll click where it says “click here to select a game and manage it’s reshade location”
- After you have found the file for the game, in this case we’ll be doing the Elder Scrolls Online, click “open.” For ESO the file is ESO64.
- Click the correct rendering API for the game (if you are unsure, a quick google search should tell you which one it is) in this case it will be direct 3d 10/11/12.
- You’ll have a list pop-up various packages to install, just click “uncheck all” and then “check all” to install everything. Then hit ok. Now after it installs, you are done installing the program and just need to set up the specific reshade you want for your game.

FINDING A PRESET RESHADE

- There are plenty of premade reshade file settings out there already. You can typically just google reshade + the name of the game you are modding. There will likely be a bunch of options, depending on the popularity of the game, so just take a bit to search through and find one that you like.
- Nexus mods is also a good place to search and that’s where we’ll be getting the preset I’ll use in this example. Note, that if you use nexus mods, you will need to create an account to start the DL. It’s free though.

SETTING UP THE PRESET IN YOUR GAME

- Once you have found the one you want to try, find the download button for it, in this case you’ll click “files” then “manual download” then “slow download” then “save file” and then save the file wherever is convenient.
- Next, you’ll open your folder that contains your game file, and also open the DL’d zipped file and drag and drop the files in. If you downloaded an unzipped file, you can just put that file directly into the game directory.
- The next thing you’ll do is open up the game. You should see reshade initializing at the top of the screen.
- The default key to open up reshade is the home key. One you hit “home” then hit “continue” if you want to do the tutorial, or just “skip tutorial.”
- Click the bar at the top under “home” and “settings” that says “default preset” and you should see the name of the file that you chose earlier. Click that and the reshade should be applied.
- At that point you are pretty much done. I do recommend keybinding something to be able to toggle the effect on and off. I use F7 and also prefer the keybind for opening this menu to be Shift + F2, instead of “home” but that is entirely up to you. If you click the home icon, you can also adjust the settings of the preset, if there is something you want to tweak.
