Flight 75: Barrow to Ronaldsway, with X-Plane 11.55 & Orbx True-Earth Great Britain scenery.

Описание к видео Flight 75: Barrow to Ronaldsway, with X-Plane 11.55 & Orbx True-Earth Great Britain scenery.

In this video, I am experimenting with the "Text to Speech" feature in Vegas Pro. I might try different voices in later videos, and try to make the pronunciation clearer.

This is the seventy-fifth flight in a series of flights in X-Plane 11, started during lockdown in 2020, travelling around the entire coastline of Great Britain, mainly from a passenger viewpoint. The journey started in Caernarfon, north Wales, in June 2020. Having completed the flights around the Scottish coastline, we now start heading down the north-west coast of England, with this flight visiting the Isle of Man. The scenery is Orbx's True-Earth Great Britain.

The pc is a Predator Orion 9000, running Windows 11; with dual GeForce 1080ti graphics cards, and 128gb memory. All the flight sim software, and scenery files, are installed onto a single 1tb solid state drive.

The journey is flown in VR using the Oculus Rift S.

Plug-ins used during flight:
AviTab – Displays the map in the cockpit.
XP-Realistic – Adds all the rattles, shakes, and other sounds.
Little NavMap – Used to create the flight plan, the flight data log, and the map seen at the start of the video.
Traffic Global – Adds virtual aircraft during the flight. Unfortunately it doesn’t always work during the replay in X-Plane.
Ultra-Weather XP – Creates the weather and atmospheric effects.

After the flight, the replay file is saved, and then played back through X-Plane. The video is recorded in 4k using GeForce Experience. During the replay, the following plug-in is used in addition to those listed above.

X-Camera – Sets up various camera positions for recording. X-Camera needs to be disabled during flight in VR.

The resulting video clips are then edited together in Vegas Pro, and rendered at 60fps in 4K. The music is produced with Magix Music Maker.

This is just a bit of fun, and not meant to be taken seriously.

I do have X-Plane 12, but at the moment it isn't giving me the frame rates I'm looking for, especially in VR. Also I don't think my 1080ti graphic cards are up to the task now, and there's no way I can afford to upgrade them. There's nothing wrong with X-Plane 11, so I'm happy to stay as I am.

Thank you for watching.
