Braces at 7 Year Old?!?! Really ... When Should Your Child Visit the Orthodontist?

Описание к видео Braces at 7 Year Old?!?! Really ... When Should Your Child Visit the Orthodontist?

In this video, board certified orthodontist Dr. Robert Passamano discusses the optimal time to have your child evaluated by an orthodontist.

Have you ever wondered when is the right time for your child to see an orthodontist? Is it at seven years old? Ten? Twelve? Fourteen? Well, the answer depends on various factors.

Dr. Passamano explains that the American Association of Orthodontists recommends an evaluation at seven years old when the first incisors and molars, adult teeth, have erupted. This evaluation helps determine if your child needs phase one treatment, addressing issues like crossbites, crowding, underbites, and more.

If phase one treatment isn't necessary, your child may proceed with one phase of treatment around 12 to 14 years old, followed by retainers for a lifetime of straight teeth.

Dr. Passamano shares examples of phase one treatments, such as expanders and braces, to correct issues like crossbites and crowding.
