Description

This video captures a live, terminal-based Mandelbrot field driven by sound.

The visualization runs as a single Python script in the terminal. The Mandelbrot set is not pre-rendered or solved in advance. Instead, its structural frame is established and continuously re-encountered in real time using ASCII characters, with full aspect correction for terminal geometry.

Sound is not used as a trigger or control signal, but as a physical field.
There is always noise — therefore always sound. Even in apparent stillness, the noise floor remains active. The system never reaches silence.

Audio input is mapped directly into subtle spatial deformation and chromatic phase. The fractal does not react to sound as an event; it exists because sound exists. What changes is not the presence of sound, but its density.

Color emerges as continuous fields rather than discrete values, allowing the Mandelbrot to appear as a living surface rather than a numerical plot. The visualization runs indefinitely, breathing with time, sound, and the geometry of the terminal window.

This is not an image of infinity, but an instrument for listening to it.
