Episode #85 of the “Funny Friday Videos” feeling Friday funny videos series. What a hectic video this has been! As I wasn’t really home the weekend prior to this video, I didn’t start recording until Monday night. However, mid-day Monday found me suddenly in very poor health, with an excruciating headache (though I’m not prone to headaches) and a strange kind of chill accompanied by profuse sweating. Over the next 36 hours I took a series of showers, not only to rinse myself of the excess perspiration but also to keep myself warm. Of course, in consideration of all that is going on with the current epidemic, I opted against going to a doctor’s office for these symptoms.

When I finally did manage to get something recorded, I of course could not have any fans or air conditioning running on account of the noise, and the hot lights seemed only to exacerbate my condition. (In fact, I went to great lengths to “trick” the color settings and filters so as to conceal my rather undead-like appearance, though the intended deception is far from perfect. Moreover, I’d not the strength to record the entire video in one take, instead requiring three different nights to commit the whole to camera in order that I might maintain some semblance of an energetic presence.

Also, in editing, I realized that I had finished some of the project with one layer of my software disabled (too technical to warrant an explanation here), so I had to go back through the opening segment of the video and do some rather extensive cropping and masking work. (In hindsight, simply redoing the earlier editing—as I keep all the software templates on-hand until the video is complete—would have been more practical.) The modifications aren’t completely invisible: in some places, black “wings” can be seen around my head! All this turmoil will certainly validate my proceeding paragraph.

With this being the mid-way point through the current “season,” I will not be uploading a Friday Funny video next Friday, but rather one of my solo MST3K videos. There are several suggested movies in the queue, but I am starting with The Laughing Lion’s suggestion of the Chuck Norris film “The Octagon.” I’ve uploaded only the scene and it shows to be “blocked in Poland” (meaning, in theory, that it should be available everywhere else); so I’m going to give it a run sometime this week and see what happens on Friday.
