INFO:
Djolé (Jolé, Yolé), is a mask-dance from the Temine people of Sierra Leone - a mask depicting a female by worn by males during the dance. Traditionally performed with a large square drum called sikko, it's been rearranged to be played with Djembes and is nowadays very popular in Guinea.
Djolé is played usually for big feasts, to celebrate a good harvest, the end of the Ramadan or a marriage.

PATTERNS & DRUM-ALONG:
At the beginning of the video there is an introduction and short practise of four separated drum lines that appear in the Djole rhythm. The drum-along track follows, starting by showing how the lines sit in the groove, and then continuing with the rhythm first at slow speed, then medium, and then fast.

SPEEDING UP:
If you feel comfortable with a certain speed and would like to practise faster, you can let the rhythm help you with that. The transitions, "Slow to Medium" and "Medium to Fast", accelerate over 3-4 minutes, to slowly arrive and settle at a new, faster tempo. Just go to the end of the chapter at the tempo you're comfortable with, drum along the transition and see how you hold.
