I got a Black & Decker Simple Start from the early 2000s off eBay for $20, with the intention of replacing the long dead lead acid battery in it with a lifepo4 battery.

It actually had 3 6v 3Ah batteries in it, that I can't find lifepo4 equivalents (or even lead acid equivalents) for it. The 3 6V batteries were in series for 18v. I had a Hart 20v lithium ion battery from Walmart in the garage and took a chance that 2 extra volts won't hurt anything. Wired it in and it works. The battery is too big to get the cover back on, but that is ok, as I have to use the Hart charger anyways, as the built in charger in the jump starter isn't for lithium batteries. I will use it to power a radio or lights during hurricanes or while camping. I can also charge a cell phone through the 12V DC socket with a car cigarette lighter USB charger. Battery is velcro'd to the bottom securely. The front panel and side light are super-glued to the bottom piece so they do not move.

Hart battery: ~$60 or so

$110 for a little emergency power station and emergency radio.
