Kanpur violence: 3 PFI Members, 54 arrested for allegedly mobilising rioters | English Breaking News

Three people associated with the Popular Front of India (PFI) were arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police in connection with the Kanpur violence. The police suspect that the PFI activists had allegedly mobilised rioters and were in contact with Hayat Zafar Hashmi, who is considered to be the key conspirator of the June 3 violence. "The trio, with affiliation to PFI, was identified in 2019. They had also been arrested during the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in 2019," Kanpur Police Commissioner, Vijay Singh Meena said.
