St. Gallen sewer collector - St. Gallen Kanalisation Steinachdole

This impressive, about 2.3 km long main collector brings the sewer from the city of St. Gallen and its 75000 inhabitants towards the eastern end (St. Fiden) to a storm water management installation. It was built in the beginning of the 20th century. In the beginning, the river Steinach was flowing in the middle of this tunnel between two wastewater streams, however this was not a good solution during storm events. Therefore, a separate tunnel underneath of this tunnel was built for the river (another video?).
