(18 May 2018) Muslim faithful flocked to Jerusalem's Old City to spend the first Friday of Ramadan - Islam's holiest month - praying in the Al Aqsa mosque.
Thousands of worshippers passed Israeli security forces on their way to prayers after days of violence that have left over 50 Palestinians dead.
Muhammad Halaiqa came from al-Shyoukh near Hebron.
He hasn't been in Jerusalem since the previous Ramadan.
Israel relaxes its strict permit system during Ramadan and allows Palestinians from the West Bank to enter Jerusalem.
Monday marked the deadliest day of cross-border violence in Gaza since a 2014 war between Israel and Hamas.
Capping weeks of protests, about 40,000 Gaza residents descended on the border area Monday.
Groups of demonstrators moved closer to the border fence, burned tyres and threw stones or firebombs.
Israeli snipers opened fire from across the fence, killing 59 Palestinians and wounding 1,300.
